Tigress of Bandipur National Park

This photo was taken in Bandipur National Park (also a Tiger Reserve) Karnataka, India. The tigress Gowri suddenly appeared while we were on a morning safari, and peeped out from behind a tree very close to our jeep. The photo is special for me because it was a close up view of a wild animal (and the national animal of India) in its natural habitat. It was shot with a Nikon coolpix digital camera on August 11, 2010. No particular techniques were used or post production done.
