The Bonfire at Meskel, Ethiopia
As one of the biggest event of the year in Ethiopia, Meskel makes one of the biggest bonfires. In this travel photo, the bonfire remains an impressive site.
Tin Wornom is an avid traveler and funds her adventures by dressing people and shopping for clothes for commercials. She enjoys markets, exotic food, and kicking butt (she’s a krav maga enthusiast). She’s a backpacker but also enjoys the finer things (but only if they accept credit cards). Her goal is to go to every country and territory in the world, conquering one place at a time.

What’s the occasion for the bonfire?
It is a celebration to make the dream of a queen who was told to make a bonfire and the smoke would lead to the site of the original cross. According to Wikipedia
