Barbados’ Scotland District

When visiting Barbados recently, I was captivated by the Scotland District, which inspired some travel photos. This uniquely undeveloped and mountainous region, located in the northeastern end of the island, revealed that Barbados has much more to offer than just white sandy beaches. The district’s lush green fields and steeply rolling hillsides provide travelers with sweeping views of the land, sea and everything in between.

Ramona Flume is an insatiable world traveler who has spent the past two summers exploring her favorite country, Colombia, alone and armed only with her notebook and film cameras. She recently graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in journalism, which has significantly cleared up her schedule to see more of the world.
